Call for Proposals: RFP Now Open for Bounce Coffee Shop and Café

AKRON, Ohio (June 16, 2021) – Bounce Innovation Hub has released an RFP inviting local food entrepreneurs, chefs, caterers or established businesses, or a combination of, to submit a proposal to open and operate its coffee shop, café and catering service.  The business footprint comprises 613 square feet of work space and 854 square feet of seating area on the first floor of Bounce.

Dan and Valerie Remark and their family had managed the café for the past two years, but recently announced they wanted to step back to focus on their other business. “While performing long-term planning, we have decided to focus our time and energy on our second business, Magic City’s Remarkable Diner in Barberton,” stated Dan Remark. “We will miss our Bounce community and customers, but the café space will provide another entrepreneur the same opportunity that was afforded to us by Bounce the past two years.”  

With more than 50 organizations in the building, Bounce accounts for more than 300 people working and creating in a vibrant environment. Surrounding buildings employ more than 2,000 people. Between 2018-2020, the Bounce facility hosted more than 20,000 visitors, creating a steady flow of foot traffic. “We believe that the café at Bounce is an asset to the community and to the building. It drives the energy and collaboration at the ground level. This is a great opportunity for any entrepreneur looking to expand their business or start a new venture in Akron,” stated Doug Weintraub, CEO.

Bounce Innovation Hub was founded in January 2018 and serves northeast Ohio entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses. Located in downtown Akron, Bounce stands on the foundation of Akron’s first wave of innovation and industry in a former B.F. Goodrich tire plant. Bounce operates a 300,000 square foot facility that includes private offices and lab space, coworking, event, and conference room space.
