Entrepreneur in Residence

Ace Epps is an entrepreneur in residence and small business advisor at Bounce where he serves non-tech-focused and minority-owned businesses. In this role, Ace provides confidential, one-on-one counseling and coaching in the areas of business management, marketing, sources of capital and strategic planning. He brings creative and passionate insight to local entrepreneurs through programming and services.

A certified facilitator for the Ice House Entrepreneur Program, Ace spent the last 20 years in the areas of workforce development, black male engagement and supporting minority businesses.

Ace served as a job developer and a business counselor at the Akron Urban League. He also has 14 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector and in 2013 started an LLC called the Self Advancement Center (SAC) where he teaches job readiness training, soft skills and interviewing techniques, and provides job placement and business training for would-be creative business owners.

Before joining Bounce, Ace worked as the program manager for the OPEN M Community Works Akron program. Ace is active in the community as a poet, visual artist, radio show host and DJ. He is also heavily involved in the Akron BMe Community. Ace attended Kent State University studying Pan-African-American history, creative writing and commercial art.
